Viscumneoside III
Viscumneoside III is a viscumneoside that is homoeriodictyol in which the hydroxy group at position 7 has been converted into the corresponding beta-D-glucopyranoside, the 2-hydroxy group of which has been converted to its beta-D-apiofuranoside derivative. Found in Viscum coloratum, an evergreen hemiparasitic plant whose stems and leaves are used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of rheumatism. It has a role as a plant metabolite. Viscumneoside III demonstrates high tyrosinase inhibition, it can be utilized in skin whitening cosmetics.

Taraxerol
Taraxerol can be used as a lipid biomarker for mangrove input to the SE Atlantic. Taraxerol has potent anti-inflammatory effects,it downregulates the expression of proinflammatory mediators in macrophages by interfering with the activation of TAK1 and Akt, thus preventing NF-κB activation. Taraxerol also has anti-cancer activity, it shows inhibitory effects on AGS cell growth through inducing G2/M arrest and promotion of cell apoptosis, taraxeryl acetate has less effect on cell cycle arrest and apoptosis of AGS cells than taraxerol. Taraxerol is a pentacyclic triterpenoid that is oleanan-3-ol lacking the methyl group at position 14, with an alpha-methyl substituent at position 13 and a double bond between positions 14 and 15. It has a role as a metabolite. It is a pentacyclic triterpenoid and a secondary alcohol.
