Theophylline
Theophylline is a dimethylxanthine having the two methyl groups located at positions 1 and 3. It is structurally similar to caffeine and is found in green and black tea. It has a role as a bronchodilator agent, a vasodilator agent, a drug metabolite, an anti-asthmatic drug, an EC 3.1.4.* (phosphoric diester hydrolase) inhibitor, an immunomodulator, a muscle relaxant, an anti-inflammatory agent, an adenosine receptor antagonist, a fungal metabolite and a human blood serum metabolite. Theophylline is a competitive nonselective phosphodiesterase inhibitor and nonselective adenosine receptor antagonist, which is the most widely used anti-asthma drug worldwide and is classified as a bronchodilator. It has antiinflammatory, and immunomodulatory actions, it also can antagonize flurazepam-induced depression of cerebral cortical neurons.

Tribuloside
Tribuloside has 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity, it can improve behavior and BrdU immunoreactive cells of depression model rats and possess antidepressant effect. Tribuloside exhibits antimycobacterial activity against the non-pathogenic Mycobacterium species Mycobacterium madagascariense and Mycobacterium indicus pranii, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) 5.0 mg/mL. Tribuloside is a glycosyloxyflavone that is kaempferol attached to a 6-O-[(2E)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]-beta-D-glucopyranosyl residue at position 3 via a glycosidic linkage. It has a role as a plant metabolite. It is a trihydroxyflavone, a cinnamate ester, a glycosyloxyflavone and a monosaccharide derivative. It is functionally related to a kaempferol and a trans-4-coumaric acid.

Ayanin
3',5-dihydroxy-3,4',7-trimethoxyflavone is a trimethoxyflavone that is quercetin in which the hydroxy groups at positions 3, 4' and 7 have been replaced by methoxy groups. It has a role as a plant metabolite. It is a trimethoxyflavone and a dihydroxyflavone. It is functionally related to a quercetin. It is a conjugate acid of a 3',5-dihydroxy-3,4',7-trimethoxyflavone(1-). Ayanin has vasorelaxant activity, it also may have the potential for use in treating allergic asthma. The IC(50) value of Ayanin (quercetin-3,7,4'-O-trimethylether) is 2.2microM for inhibiting interleukin (IL)-4 production from purified basophils.
