Calycosin
Calycosin, a selective estrogen receptor modulator, is also a vasorelaxant and a noncompetitive Ca(2+) channel blocker. It has anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, antineoplastic, and effective skin-lightening activities. Calycosin exhibited tyrosinase inhibitory activity with an IC(50) value of 38.4 microM, it suppressed breast cancer cell growth via ERβ-dependent regulation of IGF-1R, p38 MAPK and PI3K/Akt pathways. Calycosin is a member of the class of 7-hydroxyisoflavones that is 7-hydroxyisoflavone which is substituted by an additional hydroxy group at the 3' position and a methoxy group at the 4' position. It has a role as an antioxidant and a metabolite. It is a member of 4'-methoxyisoflavones and a member of 7-hydroxyisoflavones. It is functionally related to an isoflavone. It is a conjugate acid of a calycosin(1-).

Daidzein
Daidzein is a member of the class of 7-hydroxyisoflavones that is 7-hydroxyisoflavone substituted by an additional hydroxy group at position 4'. It has a role as an EC 2.7.7.7 (DNA-directed DNA polymerase) inhibitor, an antineoplastic agent, an EC 3.2.1.20 (alpha-glucosidase) inhibitor, a plant metabolite and a phytoestrogen. It is a conjugate acid of a daidzein(1-). Daidzein is a natural isoflavone phytoestrogen and a PPAR activator, used as a component of foods and dietary supplements, it should be a promising feed additive for production of high-quality beef meat. Daidzein has antitumor, anti-fibrotic, anti-bone loss, and anti-inflammatory effects. Daidzein inhibits TLR4-MyD88-NF-κB pathway.
