anisodamine
Anisodamine, an anticholinergic drug, has antishock effect, which is intimately linked to alpha7nAChR-dependent anti-inflammatory pathway. Anisodamine demonstrates a direct cardiac depressive action at the myocyte level, which may be related to, at least in part, NO production and cholinoceptor antagonism, it causes the changes of structure and function in the transmembrane domain of the Ca(2+)-ATPase from sarcoplasmic reticulum. Anisodamine, a vasoactive drug, can abate endogenous endotoxaemia subsequent to splanchnic vasoconstriction due to hypovolaemia, it alleviates inflammatory damage by significantly reducing the expressions of VEGF and ICAM-1, and shows significant protective effects in an animal model of infusion phlebitis. Anisodamine also inhibits shiga toxin type 2-mediated tumor necrosis factor-alpha production in vitro and in vivo. Scopolamine is a non subtype selective muscarinic and nicotinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist. Scopolamine is used in traditional Chinese medicine research for various diseases, mainly for improving microcirculation in shock state, and can also be used for organophosphate poisoning.

(±)-Borneol
(±)-Borneol is a bornane monoterpenoid that is 1,7,7-trimethylbicyclo[2.2.1]heptane substituted by a hydroxy group at position 2. It has a role as a metabolite and a volatile oil component.(±)-Borneol is a bornane monoterpenoid that is 1,7,7-trimethylbicyclo[2.2.1]heptane substituted by a hydroxy group at position 2. It has a role as a metabolite and a volatile oil component. (±)-Borneol is a bicyclic monoterpene used for analgesia and anaesthesia in traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine, it and its enantiomer (±)-Borneol have a highly efficacious positive modulating action at GABA(A) receptors at human recombinant alpha1beta2gamma2L GABA(A) receptors. Borneol specifically inhibits the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR)-mediated effects in a noncompetitive way, can depress P-glycoprotein function by a NF-κB signaling mediated mechanism in a blood brain barrier in vitro model. Borneol has neuroprotection through the inhibition of IκBα-NF-κB and translocation signaling pathway, it also has an anti-cerebral ischemia effects. It can suppresse inflammatory responses in LPS-induced acute lung injury through inhibition of the NF-κB and MAPKs signaling pathways.

Hirsuteine
Hirsuteine exhibits potent neuroprotective effects against glutamate-induced HT22 cell death. Hirsuteine non-competitively antagonizes nicotine-evoked dopamine release by blocking ion permeation through nicotinic receptor channel complexes.
