Scopolin can reduce the clinical symptoms of rat AIA by inhibiting inflammation and angiogenesis, it may be a potent agent for angiogenesis related diseases.Scopolin and related coumarins has fungitoxic effect on Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, which is a way to overcome sunflower head rot. Scopolin is a member of the class of coumarins that is scopoletin attached to a beta-D-glucopyranosyl residue at position 7 via a glycosidic linkage. It has a role as a plant metabolite. It is a beta-D-glucoside, a member of coumarins and a monosaccharide derivative. It is functionally related to a scopoletin.
