Dihydrosanguinarine has potential application in the therapy of serious infection caused by I. multifiliis. Dihydrosanguinarine is a benzophenanthridine alkaloid obtained by selective hydrogenation of the 13,14-position of sanguinarine. It has a role as a metabolite and an antifungal agent. It derives from a hydride of a sanguinarine.
