8-prenyldaidzein is a 7-hydroxyisoflavone that is daidzein in which the aromatic hydrogen at position 8 has been replaced by a prenyl group. It has a role as a plant metabolite. It is a polyphenol, a member of 7-hydroxyisoflavones and an olefinic compound. It is functionally related to a daidzein. 8-Prenyldaidzein has cytotoxic properties against P-388 cells, its IC 50 values 5.82 ug/mL, it also exhibits very high antioxidant activity against DPPH radical scavenging.
